Hi All!
Fot the ones who are thinking about using their mobile phones to make and receive calls while on holidays there are some good news.
After a new regulation by the EU about the Roaming charges, all the Operators within European Union should follow the instruction and charge maximum 0,49 Euros/minute (+tax) for the outgoing calls and 0,24 Euros/minute (+tax) for receiving calls when abroad.

There are 3 major Mobile Phone Providers in Greece and you can use anyone you want when having Roaming.
However, the network coverage is not good all over the island.

Tips
The cheapest way to make phonecalls is using the card phones by purchasing cards from any Super Market in Paleokastritsa

Cosmote wat's up 0,0143/sec

SMS:
A smart way to communicate is by SMS.
There is no charge for receiving SMS when you are abroad.
However, the charge for sending SMS might be quite high.
A good solution is to buy a greek prepaid number and Top Up as much as you need.
At the moment there is an offer from Cosmote, and you can buy a greek number (SIM card) for 5 Euros.
The charge for sending SMS to foreign networks is 0,1749 Euros total

The cheapest charge for SMS is by Q telecoms and is only 0,03 Euros/sms and "scratch" cards from 3 Euros.
Mo'MaD will charge you 0,1428 Euros/sms but will double your credit whenever you top up, so it's half price.
